So I'm still working on this, but I decided to use our organization's values as our starting point. Our values are respect, compassion, collaboration, integrity, and fiscal responsibility. These should be exemplified by all staff and volunteers with the organization. I can share when I have them approved!

Hi!
I am hoping to gain some insight into community guidelines for our volunteer social media groups and in-person meetings. We have a social media policy that does a good job of explaining what not to do, but it doesn't give as much insight into what the expectations are and how volunteers should be using the platforms. As a former educator, it is important to me that we make our expectations clear and unambiguous. I also really want expectations written in positive language. In a classroom, I was a big fan of having fewer expectations with fuller meanings that we discussed, as in "be safe". I want to encourage our volunteers to share with us and each other but understand exactly how we expect them to share and what is okay to share. I'm curious about the wording and emphasis that others have placed and how well they set and manage expectations.
Thanks!
Sara
