The Florida State Animal Response Coalition (FL SARC) a training provider for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Service's State Agriculture Response Team (FL SART) to provide Pet-Friendly Disaster and Emergency Sheltering training at both the Awareness and Operations levels. These courses equip individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to establish and operate pet-friendly emergency shelters, making them valuable not just for disaster response but also for everyday animal sheltering facilities.
Since 2011, our training program has trained students around the country, preparing them to support disaster relief efforts, animal cruelty investigations, and hoarding cases. We are a partner organization of the ASPCA and Humane World for Animals to assist in their emergency response efforts.
Our training is available in person throughout Florida, and we also offer live online sessions via Zoom, making it accessible from anywhere.
How does your state manage evacuation and emergency sheltering for animals? If you're interested in learning more about our training or bringing it to your community, contact us at FLSARC@SPCAFLORIDA.ORG or visit https://flsarc.org/training
