For years now, we have operated a subsidized spay/neuter program for pet owners who make less than $50K annually. We have started seeing a new phenomenon where individuals making above our income requirements still cannot afford this procedure. They are getting quotes like $450 for a cat neuter at their private vets. They are trying to do the right thing, but we can't absorb all the costs of allowing them to participate in our current program where we subsidize between 40-60% of the cost (depending on species). Does anyone have a tiered payment system for spay/neuter services? If so, I will trade you 100 kittens to have a copy. Also, do you make them proof financial level for your tiered system?
