I am the treasurer for the National German Wirehaired Pointer Rescue, a non-profit, 5013c organization that rescues German Wirehaired Pointers (GWP) using a foster home model. We have received a couple of grants, but rely primarily on donations and a raffle/auction at our Nationals Show. We have had a huge increase in dogs coming into rescue, many of which require expensive medical funding. I recently transported 5 of 10 GWPs from Virginia to Ohio where they were in a hoarding situation.
I would love to hear any ideas for a fund raising event to be held at our National Show in October. We have small items for raffle and some auction items that are donated. But we really could use additional ideas for fund raising at the national show.
Also, we would be interested in suggestions of grants for which we can apply.
