As a Human Resources professional in the Animal Welfare sector, it is my job to support those who support the animals. As such, I've developed this 'Going Home Checklist' for our staff (inspired by a similar list from a hospital nearby).

I distributed to our staff digitally, but also printed and laminated wallet-sized cards so our staff can keep in their pockets if they'd like.

It serves as a simple reminder to acknowledge the day, and to check on your teammates (and yourself) prior to heading home.

This is fantastic! What a great way to help staff. Thanks for sharing, Tracy (and for developing it).

I like how your checklist makes space for the human side of the work. I've been using socialprofiler.com on the recruitment end to get quick reads on applicants' online vibes, which helped me spot folks who might thrive in a high‑stress, compassion-heavy setting. Pairing tools like that with a going-home routine has made it easier for my team to keep their shoulders a little less tense by the end of the day.
