We send out notes and use contact us pages for local and larger companies when asking for donations or sponsorships.  Very rarely do we receive any response or we start receiving ad publications from the company.  For local companies - do you feel it best to try to stop in and try talking to someone for a donation, I don't like to interrupt and would use this way for collecting raffle items.  I feel stopping in my information/request will just get lost at the front desk and some larger companies I've reached out to are not located near us.  Love to hear some thoughts!

Hi Geri,

We have found that by setting up a time to network with local business owners and establishing a relationship has made a HUGE difference. We are able share initiatives we are working on and better explain how their donation will impact our organization.
