Hi, I'm afraid that it's really their fight. There are a lot of unhinged people on social media, and your best defense is to protect yourself and secure your profile. The settings matter. You'll need a different profile now, but they should report the stalker.
I don't think that this happens a lot, but I could be wrong. This is not typical in rescues. Just fix your Facebook issue, stay strong and keep rescuing. Cheers, Catherine

Thank you, I've tried the Facebook reports before but unfortunately Facebook is super lazy with that.
Last time I've tried the multiple accounts thing on Facebook they banned the other accounts straight away.
Now I don't know this person as they're clear out in Australia, as I mentioned the reason they hate me so much is because I was helping the other rescue they hate, Budgie Sanctuary Rescue, this person has been stalking and harassing all of BSR's followers telling lies that they're a "scammer" and a "bird killer" to try to get them to unfollow and leave them.
I unfortunately got the worst end because of the fact I to am operating a rescue..

Hi, Tabby, first problem is the security issue. You can make your groups private like other groups do. You can take screenshots of the malicious posts and send it to Facebook. Someone has targeted you- report it as a "hate crime" and send the screenshots. I don't have any info on my profile. I don't have my name, etc.
You could have more than one profile on Facebook.
I think that you were targeted by someone you know. Sounds personal. Ive never heard of a rescue group getting attacked like you have. They went to a lot of trouble to defame you.
Fight back. Document the attacks and engage Facebook security. Calling it a hate crime should get their attention. Don't give up. That's how you handle it. This is not normal. That's my advice.

Question for everyone in the rescue field. How do you all deal with the negative parts of the job, such as people that don't view animals the same way we do?
Recently I was attacked and I lost my Great Nonprofits page after it was hijacked by someone that created fake rescue hate pages to slander legit rescues.
They've been first attacking this other rescue called Budgie Sanctuary Rescue, I've been helping them for a while with fighting against the slander, the attacker didn't know I was helping them since I had them blocked on my Facebook until recently where they found I was an admin for a group by BRS.
Then they hijacked one of my Facebook groups, started calling me a r*tard, twisting my words from my Facebook posts and then hijacked my Great Nonprofits page, they made a bunch of fake accounts on there to post one star reviews saying that I "steal wildlife for my personal convenience and then my family kills them as a joke". Told me I should have a lobotomy forced upon me... It was horrible...
And this person already completely destroyed Budgie Sanctuary Rescue's reputation to a point that she can't get funding to help her birds. I fear the same may happen to me, I've had to temporarily hide my Facebook page, deactivate and close my page on Great Nonprofits...
I'm sorry if this sounds like a rant, I'm just wondering how other small rescuers deal with these issues and get the support they need.
