Hi everyone, with all of the snow that some parts of the country have been getting recently, we at Humane Action Pennsylvania (HAP) just wanted to remind everyone about some best practices for melting ice in a pet-friendly way. Traditional de-icers can burn paws, irritate skin, and cause serious illness if ingested. Dogs frequently lick their paws after walks, unknowingly ingesting harmful residues. We encourage you to pet-safe alternatives made with calcium magnesium acetate or other less toxic compounds. Stay warm!
