Hi, I will be going for a few hours to the local high schools, talking about Animal Services and our new program for HS students. However, the reps for the schools asked for our table to be interactive and engaging. So I wanted to pick your brains to see what has worked for you if anything! I was thinking of doing a 10-question trivia, 2 truths and 1 lie where they need to figure out which is the lie and I dont know what else.       Prizes would be a t-shirt, free adoption for the family, magnets, ect.

Sounds like this is a booth situation versus speaking in front of a group... let me know if that is not correct and I'll share different lesson suggestions. For booths, if you can bring an animal with you, that's the easiest "interactive activity" to make you very popular, haha. Otherwise, here's a few activities I bring to events:

    • "Guess my Breed Board": Some info on how only a small piece of DNA controls a dog's looks and it's highly inaccurate to look at them and guess. I include 5 photos of dogs for examples with their "height" and "weight" and then the results of their DNA test on the back of the paper.
    • "Sensory Boxes"/What's in the box touch game: Hints on items in the boxes on front and the answer on the back.
    • Take home activities such as origami, catnip planters, etc.

    Morning Erin,

Yes this is more of booth/table set up. I can bring an animal but I am not sure how that will go being in a cafeteria for about 5 hours. However I really like the ideas that you have too! After posting this I did think of a few things as well: Trivia questions, Word Scramble (of breeds and programs), and Facts vs Myths matching. I like the guess the breed  and the what is in the box games. :)
