    Hello!
For those organizations that provide crates to foster homes, what is your favorite way to keep track of all the crates out?  And do you have the crates labeled/identified?

    Thanks!

    Hi Samantha,

I have a "foster supply checklist" with check boxes where I can track the supplies checked out to the foster parent. Foster parents are required to sign the supply checklist acknowledging they will return the supplies after the foster period. I go over the checklist with every foster parent before handoff of supplies.

Slightly expanded topic - I had amazing luck putting a 'request for cat carriers' post on NextDoor. I've also used a very small, very local online newsletter for the same reason. I volunteer with a non-profit low or no fee vaccination mobile clinic and s/n/some medical procedures organization. People come to the vac clinic, with their cats in their arms often. We are mostly outside and have had some 'escapes'. We purchased some of the cardboard carriers on Amazon, and ask for a donation to get one, but between the cardboard and the many donations from the community, every cat goes home in a carrier. The people with an extra carrier to donate contact me thru NextDoor, I go pick the carrier up and leave a flyer thanking them and giving the Organization's contact and details. I used to buzz by yard sales and look, but haven't had to for quite a while. When the flow of offers slows down, I'd repost with a thank you to the community - which often gets a few more offers. I suppose you could do the same for traps?
