Curious about the operations of a pet-inclusive domestic violence shelter?
Join us for an in-person Open House, hosted by My Dog Is My Home, on Friday, November 17 in New York City from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM. This open house is made possible by the generous support of Maddie's Fund, #ThanksToMaddie and the Mayor's Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour Urban Resource Institute's pet-inclusive domestic violence shelter, hear about their policies and procedures, and listen to PALS program participants, all with the goal of building a regional network of providers that can support each other through the various phases of co-sheltering.
The open house is free to attend and the RSVP deadline is November 8th. Please note that we will be limiting RSVPs to 20 people (and 2 people per organization) due to the intimate nature of the event. RSVP HERE and feel free to reach out at any time with questions.
If you cannot attend the open house, we invite you to join our virtual Co-Sheltering Collaborative community for online learning opportunities. Please email Collaborative@mydogismyhome.org for additional information. We also encourage you to learn more about the URI PALS Program and the intersection of domestic violence and pets via this report.
