After more than three years of tireless work, Humane Action Pittsburgh is thrilled to announce that Pennsylvania has passed HB 1210 (now Act 146), which explicitly allows companion animals to be included in Protections from Abuse (PFA) Orders! Pennsylvania was one of only a handful of states that did not allow judges this discretion, so signing this into law represents a giant leap forward for Pennsylvania! If you live in one of the states listed below, then your state does not include pets in PFAs. Please feel free to reach out to HAP for guidance on how we were able to secure this victory for animal welfare in our state if you would like to do so in yours!
