Hey! My exotic rescue doesn't specialize in rabbits, but rabbit dumpings have been a HUGE problem in my state. Tons of backyard rabbit breeders, tons of dumpings. We recently received a rabbit that was dumped in a county park. In my experience in other rescues, i've learned that it can be hard to adopt out rabbits and it takes a long time. Does anyone have any tips on getting people more interested and dedicated to rabbits, leading to safe adoptions?
I do require adopters be willing to show us what type of set-up they have for the animal before taking them home. This doesn't have to be an in-person visit. We have no issues with virtual verification (Although I hear mixed opinions on this). Some people seem to be intimidated by that, leading to them being deterred from applying.
Like I mentioned, rescuing rabbits are a new ballgame to me. Any tips or insight is appreciated!
