In 2026, Shelter Animals Count will celebrate 10 years of collecting and analyzing shelter data with our largest investment yet: $200,000 in Impact Awards - 10x our normal annual funding. This milestone is made possible through our acquisition by the ASPCA, ensuring that the next decade of data will be even more impactful for the animal welfare community. The first wave of funding, totaling $115,000, will be available to organizations contributing to our 2025 Year End Report, marking the beginning of a year-long celebration of data-driven progress and collaboration across the field.

2025 Year End Report Data Drive

As we close out 2025, we are launching our Year End Report Data Drive - the first wave of funding in our historic $200,000 Impact Awards for 2026.

This Data Drive, totaling $115,000 in awards, will be distributed to organizations contributing their 2025 intake and outcome data for our Year-End Report, with awards allocated by organization type to ensure broad representation across the field. This includes $105,000 in Intake/Outcome Impact Awards distributed by both organization type and overall impact and a special $10,000 "10 Years of Data" Award for long-term contributors.

Organizations can submit their annual data from January 1, 2026, until January 12 at 8:00pm EST to qualify. If you have signed up with an API with us, your data will be automatically transmitted to SAC on the 7th. You can verify that your data has been entered in your organization's portal.

Together, these awards mark the beginning of a year-long celebration of 10 years of collecting and analyzing shelter data with our largest investment to organizations yet.
