Animal Welfare Professionals

Hey All, 

 I know this is a long shot but no harm in trying/asking! We are a municipal shelter in the DFW area of Texas. We are wanting to find transport partners to work with out of state that would be interested in pulling our dogs. We will vet the dogs, follow any guidelines you set for expectations and more. As I'm sure you already know we have AMAZING dogs who are just constantly overlooked here but the second they hit rescues they are adopted for 6x our adoption fee ... WILD. But we've had golden mixes sit here for weeks with no interest and so we're just exploring any/all avenues in further our live release rate.

You can try posting on social media groups that target rescues (Best Friends, Rescues Across America, HASS).  Unfortunately, there are way more source groups wanting to move dogs as opposed to receiving rescues open to new intake.  You might search for Breed specific rescues, though many won't take mixes).  Dog adoptions are down - even in states that previously imported dogs regularly.

Other than social media posts, your best opportunity is to reach out to your network for individuals that know someone in animal welfare in other states.  Ask for help with connections.  I haven't found that 'cold calling/emailing' works very well.
