In an effort to help educate our community, social media can be a great tool. We are trying to build our following and interaction numbers, so we also try to pepper in fun and interactive posts to build the interaction with the page.  We do themes like Snoozy Sunday, Tongue Out Tuesday, Would You Rather Weds., Fun Fact Friday and such, but they are hit and miss. What fun, informative posts or interactive posts have you found to be most successful?

We do similar posts, such as wacky Wednesdays, thankful Thursdays and two-fur Tuesdays with odd couple animals, like our cow and donkey who are inseperable. Our most popular posts are our "caption this" posts featuring animals making silly faces or strange poses and our educational/fun facts posts which we share on different days of the week. We've also noticed that our reels are more popular than our image posts.

We do Walk-Thru Wednesday where a staff member walks through the shelter, shows the available animals, and says a little bit about them. We also do a Foster Friday where we have fosters send in pictures of their foster babies and we do one big post. We do make it clear in the Foster Friday posts that those animals are not available for adoption yet. People really seem to love both of these.

    Hey!

We have about 16k followers on fb which isn't massive but its been growing most recently which has been cool.

    We do :

    Tongues Out Tuesdays

Wisdom Wednesday (educating about one of our city ordinances or programs we offer at Animal Services)

Trottin' Thursday (to showcase our Prairie Trotters - A Wellness Club) both the program and one of our adoptable dogs

Focus Friday - our most at risk dogs for space related euthanasia

    Senior Sundays

    - We do walk a 1hr live walk through weekly or biweekly (people love these a lot)

    • We will post random national whatever day and tell people to share their pets with us (those always do really well)
    • We post the animals in our story throughout the day just passing through kennels, kittens playing gets a lot of views usually.
