As foster parent for elderly or medical needs dogs. I frequently google what the drug is, how often given, sometimes x3? x2? am/pm? will cause intestinal upset? can cause vomiting? also, when I have to apply dressings, a video is critical (I am not the most visual person so if I can see someone else it's a life saver). In this day and age if you can give me a link to web page where I can check off doses (even if this is a google docs page), link to rxlist.com (my go to source). I also have another foster that I can text at weird hours with questions. I did that yesterday. With a cat question. I own two cats. But foster dogs.

Subject: Take Home Medicine Sheets for Foster Homes
Hello! I have tried looking on Maddie's University and Pet Forum for these materials but couldn't locate a thread that discussed this previously (I'm sorry if I missed it somewhere!). I am the foster coordinator at SPCA Cincinnati. When medical fosters go out, they typically have medication (and a lot of it) and while our medical team does make labels for the foster homes to read, I also think it would be beneficial to have a sheet with possibly some info on the drug and why were are giving it (our fosters love learning why we do things!) and a way for the foster homes to initial or check-off when they've given the medication. Our technicians do create medication sheets that they initial as they give the medicine, however, it typically has a lot of confusing terminology or has been beaten up to the point you can barely read what it says. If you have sheets that you give to your fosters, I would love to see them! Or any other advice on how you have your foster families track treatment administration is much appreciated!
