@Misty Valenta is Shelter Director for the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter. Her journey in animal welfare began when she took her rambunctious puppy to a training class – and the instructors convinced her to volunteer at the shelter. Since then, she has overseen marketing, media, fundraising, the volunteer program, the foster program, community events, and rescue/shelter partnerships. She has led conversations at regional events such Texas Unites for Animals, New Mexico Humane Conference, and Carolinas Unite. And been honored to present at national conferences such as the Best Friends National Conference. Misty lives in Austin with her husband, children, and her furry tripod canine child.
