Hi. We are a small nonprofit with a growing need for volunteers. Our group started a basic volunteer program that included an application and volunteer waiver a few months ago. We use Vome for volunteer scheduling.
I would like some examples of on boarding steps that you include, required paperwork, and a volunteer handbook. We are just starting some in person orientations.
Here are some items I have seen suggested in Volunteer Packet.
The Volunteer Intake Packet includes:
- Approved Volunteer Application (we have in VOME)
- Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver (we have in VOME)
- Volunteer Agreement – What do you include in this?
- Code of Conduct
- Confidentiality Agreement
- Media Release
- Volunteer Rules (signed & initialed)
- Emergency Contact Information
- Minor Volunteer Consent & Waiver (if applicable
I'm trying to determine which of these items are necessary. Could some of them be included as part of a volunteer handbook and sign off through that process ? Do some of them need to be stand alone documents?
I would appreciate any suggestions or examples you could send our way.
