  • 1.  What kind of Fire Alarm / Smoke Detector System would work for our sanctuary?

    Posted 4 days ago

Our sanctuary would like to improve our fire alarm/smoke detector system. Dogs at the sanctuary live in one main house and five tiny houses on a large property. So, ideally, we would like to have smoke detectors in each house that connect (through an app?) to one or more people who would be alerted in an emergency. (People live on the property, but not in the houses with the dogs.) We don't want alarms going off in the dogs' houses since this wouldn't do any good and would just upset the dogs. Wireless would be great, but the Wi Fi signal on the property isn't strong.

Does something like this exist? Or does anyone have a suggestion of something that might work for our sanctuary?

We just installed the Ring Smoke/CO2 detectors. There's a $5/month subcription that will alert the police/fire of an alarm going off, plus you also have it right on your cell phone. It was way cheaper than having a company come in and install (wireless!!) onces anyway. Their price was $1400 ($500 main touchscreen) for 8 units and Ring was $600 for 8 units.
