Hi Kathy,
We do a garage sale every year so just a few tips. Remember anything that doesn't sell, you still have to get rid of. For that reason, we don't accept large furniture, lamps, most books, clothing, tires, chemicals, paint, really large artwork (people will try!). Don't try to price everything, just haggle at the checkout. Don't be surprised that people will offer you the bare minimum, even though they know it's for charity (but others will surprise you!) Have a donation jar at checkout. Do a lot of social media. We do a 'live' at the start and then maybe a few videos throughout the day.
Ours is a 3 day event, so we try to make the most of the first day. Identifying items before we open that we'll not let go for less than $XX. Last day, we do a whatever you can stuff in a bag for $5. And then, put on social for the last 1-2 hours that everything is free. Usually we have a few pickers that come pick all the leftovers up.
I attached our flier of what we do and don't accept. Good luck!

Subject: Yard Sale Fundraiser
Hi Community!
we are planning a yard sale to support Bruno Project Rescue. Does any one have any ideas? I am thinking to do some raffles but wonder if anyone has had a yard sale to support their rescue and what worked?
We are doing our own goods and asking for donations to sell.
looking forward to your wonderful advice!
