Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) has an opening for a new member of our dynamic team dedicated to providing the highest standard of shelter medicine and work with other happy, enthusiastic, over-achievers who believe in what we are doing. We are currently a two DVM, progressive, and well equipped veterinary clinic in Walnut Creek seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for full time position. Part time applicants may also be considered.

Our hospital is equipped with in-house lab abilities, digital x-rays (full body and dental), and in-house ultrasound. We work with board certified veterinarians for consultations and procedures with outside specialists (surgery, radiology, cardiology, etc.). Our vibrant support team is experienced and cohesive and provides high quality care for our shelter guests. We are in an ideal up and coming location, blocks away from new restaurants and shopping and minutes from downtown Walnut Creek.

RVT certification required. Technicians are expected to be competent with obtaining history, phlebotomy, in house lab, IV catheter placement, intubation/anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep/assistance, radiography, restraint, etc. Applicants with previous dental experience (digital x-rays, scaling/polishing, charting, etc.) is helpful and a plus.

Position Summary:

Provides high quality medical care to animals, and leads veterinary assistants in delivery of medical services to ARF shelter guests and animals belonging to members of the public in support of all ARF programs. Assists veterinarians with public spay/neuters, both mobile and on site at ARF, examinations and medical procedures. Facilitates and executes procedures prescribed by the doctor.
