If you are used to using the older feeding charts that list amounts to feed per day, Kitten College has created a new chart in collaboration with UC Davis and the University of Florida shelter medicine programs. You do NOT need to use this chart, which shows weight of kitten and number of feedings a day. Keep in mind that each kitten is an individual and number of feedings may vary. If a healthy kitten is awake and asking for food, feed them. Do not wake a sleeping kitten!
Thank you so much for your question, @Hsnu _. This chart is for healthy kittens and not meant for fosters and caregivers that address medical needs. A kitten that needs to be tube fed would need those instructions designated by their vet. Thank you for pointing that out - we will make a note that this is just for healthy kittens
Hello, does the new chart provide stomach capacity? If not is there a reason for that? I find it important so that bottle feeders (especially ones that need to tube feed) are aware of that information so they don't overfeed which can lead to aspiration. Thank you!!
