These might be helpful:

There are a lot more studies on probiotics and health in Google Scholar-- here's results for "dog" and "probiotic".
I think the trick is finding a probiotic that has the particular strain in it that has proven to work, since they each seem to have their own blend. I will say, I had a vet recommend Visbiome to me -- it is expensive but it's really good.

Hi Everyone,
I have been noticing a very interesting trend between behavioral concerns in dogs and overall gut health and wellbeing. Now of course anxiety, fear, stress, and frustration can cause stomach upset that I am well aware of. My instincts are telling me this is more.
I was reaching out wondering if there is any scientific research that has been done relating to gut health/flora/microbiome and general emotional wellbeing in animals (specifically dogs) like there is for people? I am aware that dogs have two vagus nerves, just like people, and that serotonin is produced in the digestive system. I am looking for more than the basics. I have done some digging and could not find anything reputable (backed by research) and I really feel like there is something there that needs more exploring.
I welcome any insights, articles, scientific findings, or directions anyone might have as I hope to explore this further. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places? Thank you!!!
