I am starting a new nonprofit animal rescue. I have extensive experience fostering neonatal kittens. I've been fortunate to foster with different county shelters and rescue groups in several cities across the US. I have also volunteered in several county shelters affording me experience in each department.
What I lack is experience creating a budget for a nonprofit. This is a critical step. I must make absolutely sure our organization has funds to provide the best support for every animal in or care including unexpected emergency vet care.
Maddie's Fund hosted a great webinar about creating budgets for shelters. I definitely got a few ideas. However, most of the information was relevant for larger organizations.
Are there any resources for creating budgets for small rescues? Does anyone have an example of a small rescue budget
