Do you need a FREE for non-profits program to organize, automate, and lessen your work load?

  • 1.  Do you need a FREE for non-profits program to organize, automate, and lessen your work load?

    Monday.com is FREE for registered non profits and it is amazing! I happened on a webinar about it and was so impressed that I signed our small rescue up for it. It has so many possibilities. i originally had our task list in a spreadsheet but it was long and cumbersome. Moving it to Monday allowed me to import it into a board and let it do the work. I created  task lists for each of us and then selected person responsible in the original list. I wrote an automation to copy it to the person responsible list. now everyone gets notified if they have a new task. When the finish a task, & set status to DONE ,

    Because it takes time to set it up, I wanted to see if anyone else is using or wants to try it. I have really started building out ours with donor and donation info, job applications, volunteer management, bigger projects, etc. I am willing to share and collaborate. I hope to at some point offer a  kit of board templates for rescues to use.

    Anyone interested?

    I've been looking at Notion for doing similar, although I've been trying to design a shelter management type of set-up.

    I had taken a look at Monday.com but you've now renewed my interest in it, so I will explore further.

    Hi Sharon,

    I have been using a spreadsheet for tasks, donors, volunteers- well, everything.  I will take a look at Monday.com

    Thanks for sharing

    Glad to see some interest in using Monday.com. If you are using spreadsheets to keep track of things, you can import them directly to monday.com after you set up the board. then you can do things like send reply, emails, notify people to contact volunteers, set up an event, calendar, etc.. It just takes spreadsheets to the next level! Be glad to share and help you set it up! Perhaps develop a collaboration group, if anyone's interested.

    @Sharon Esempio

    This looks perfect for what we are looking for. I will check it out and if you don't mind will reach out to pick your brain on what you have learned so far. Thank you for sharing.

    We have been using Airtable as an alternative for admin tasks. Monday.com has great reviews and I like that it offers several free seats of their Pro plan to nonprofits.

    I have been able to find an animal shelter management template on MOnday.com that might help some with a basic set-up:

    We use Shelterluv for managing the animals and adoptions. We use monday.com for all of the other tasks that we do:  managing the kennels. Inventories, volunteers, projects, multimedia. Etc.,  it looks like it would be a good start though for any shelters, it does not have another program to manage that part.

    Keep sharing though as I know, there are lots of people out there who might be able to use what we find.
