Hi Meghan!
We participate in Giving Tuesday and Empty the Shelters as well, but also rely on our mailers, digital emails, and holiday initiatives. Our entire donor base gets emails and physical mail to help raise funds, which we have seen a great return on so far. I know this can take funds and time to do so, but it has helped raise necessary end-of-year funds for our shelter. There are many people out there looking to donate to a great cause before the end of the year and tax season. For holiday initiatives, we launched 5 of them this year.
- Holiday Donation Drive - companies across our community are collecting in-kind donations on-site to donate to our shelter animals! We provide the company a wrapped donation box with our "Holiday Wishlist" items that they can keep at the company's location, collect the desired items, and return to our shelter by January 1st. We also utilize volunteers to drop off and pick up if that is more convenient for a company.
- The Giving Tree - located in our lobby, this tree has ornaments of our shelter animals asking for a specific item! It's a picture of an adoptable animal saying "ANIMAL NAME is asking for BLANK this year!" All they need to do is pick an ornament off our "Giving Tree", purchase the item(s) of the ornament, bring the item(s) back to us and place them under the tree! They can also buy directly from our Amazon Wishlist if that is easier and we will put them under our tree.
- Holiday Merch Bundles - we know not all shelters have merch, so this may not be possible. We created a build your own "Giveback Bundle" that people can buy for themselves or as a gift for others this season! Ours is specifically 3 items of their choice, including clothes, accessories, and "Giveback Items". Instead of three merchandise items, they can replace 1-2 with a dog or cat toy for one of our shelter animals!
- Tribute Donations - someone can donate $100 in a friend or family members name and they will receive a personalized holiday card from one of our shelter animals! This could be a gift in memoriam of a beloved pet, or a tribute to a friend, family member, or just someone you believe deserves recognition. Perfect for people who have everything or don't want a gift, but have a love for shelter animals.
- Event Tickets - tickets for our next fundraising event are on sale now, so people can purchase them for themselves, family member, or friend. This is a large scale event for us, but could be for any scale event a shelter does. Encourage people to gift an experience that benefits shelter animals that they can look forward to doing in the new year.
I hope this helps give you some ideas of ways to tune into the end of year! Wishing you the best of luck on your fundraising goals for your shelter animals.
Happy Pawlidays!

Subject: End of the year ideas.
Hello everyone,
I was wondering what you to do for your end of the year push? Our organization has participated in many different things such as: holiday drives, Giving Tuesday, and ETS but are there things we are missing the mark on? We are in desperate need of a new building and looking for any creative ways to raise funds. Thank you in advance.
