2. What if a client doesn't have a carrier?
GAYLE BAIR, Animal Friends, Pittsburgh: We speak with the client ahead of time to determine if they have a carrier. If not, we try to arrange dropping off a carrier in advance if possible. We have donated carriers and cardboard carriers at the shelter to share. We have only had this occur once thus far, and it was a special circumstance/case.
MARTY SAMPSON, LEASH: We do not require carriers for dogs, but we do require dogs wear a harness. If a dog does not have a harness, the driver will placed a Leash issued harness on the dog and tether the dog via harness to a seatbelt for safety. Cats are required to be in a carrier at pick-up. We ask that drivers do not handle cats directly to avoid potential injury.
SARAH McGOLDRICK, Dallas Pets Alive!: We can provide carriers for our Snyft drivers if they are needed!
