Software system to manage dog day out or shelter skip day programs

I am a software-savvy volunteer at a multi site, multi state non-profit shelter organization and have helped enhance their year+ old shelter skip day program (aka doggy day out) that lets the public take dogs out for part of a day or overnight for enrichment. While I have seen some posts here showing examples of process manuals and form templates I did not find any that offer software to help manage the actual outings. We have an integrated set of spreadsheets, forms and slides that use the free Google apps platform with added automation code and these could be adapted for most any similar program.

The core is a Google sheet that records the actual outings (dog ID, name, person's name etc, time out and in, etc). Lookups are supported to other lists such as approved dogs.  Another linked spreadsheet lists the dogs approved to go out on skip day ("candidates"), with attributes and a flag to show if they may be temporarily unavailable (foster, ill, etc.). Another sheet automatically shows the "real time" status of dogs, whether they have been "checked out" or are still available to go out, which can be printed or displayed to the public on a monitor.  Participants use a Google form via QR code to first-time register and register for each outing, and this list is used to populate the dog outings record with the responsible person's contact info. We have a Google slide deck linked to the others that shows (if you build one) a slide for each dog and this is exposed to potential "hosts" via a QR code on their phone. Code automates the visibility of these slides nightly, that is, if a dog is marked as unavailable in the candidates list that slide is marked as not visible so the public doesn't see it the next day. There are also various "dashboards" that show statistics such as how long since the last outing for each dog, how many times they have been out, etc. A master Excel sheet can integrate this history with outcomes based on dog adoptions (we use PetPoint, and this is based on several Excel format extracts from PetPoint).

It is designed to support shelters that have multiple campuses and integrates the data across campuses.

This is not a bullet-proof web app but has proved to be helpful, and if any historical analysis is desired (such as to support fund raising initiatives) it is almost certainly better than just paper sign-ins.

Info, demos and templates can be provided (if our shelter management agrees) and help can be provided to adapt to other organizations.
