    Hello all,

We are wondering what other organizations are  thinking of the upcoming changes to Facebook donations.  It is not clear if you will  be able to raise money via FB if you don't elect to join their new platform which comes with fees.

This is the message we go

Due to upcoming changes to Meta's fundraising tools, there are actions you must take by October 31, 2023 (5 PM PT) to avoid disruptions to your fundraising tools.

We are partnering with PayPal Giving Fund (PPGF) to support donations benefiting nonprofits in the United States and will no longer support donation payouts through Network for Good, starting October 31, 2023. Separately, Meta will no longer be covering processing fees on donations.

We want to ensure you have the information you need to manage through this change, and would like to thank you for choosing to partner with Facebook and Instagram to raise money for your nonprofit. To avoid losing access to some fundraising tools, you must take the required action to review and accept our updated Charitable Donation Terms and switch to PPGF before the October 31, 2023 (5 PM PT) deadline. Click Review to get started.

I had a hard time finding the Aug thread so I will share the link: Animal Welfare Professionals  - I wanted to reread it because it's getting closer.  There is some good discussion- I think you will not be able to receive donations on facebook if you don't do the required actions- they are listed in the thread.  Amazon did away with Smile, Facebook charging fees- bad timing in this economy- people are struggling and big business tightens their ways to help.  :(

We received this email from Facebook/Meta earlier this week. At first we thought it was spam, but now we see it's legit. Took a while to read through the whole

All you need to do is set up a Paypal business account and ensure you are listed as a nonprofit. They validate this via Guidestar and your TIN. After, you can receive donations to your PayPal account via Facebook fundraisers. Money is deposited into your Paypal account once a month, and Paypal offers free bank transfers.
